Ana has a Magique day at bookstore

Children got a double-barrelled treat at Books Etc, Staines.

Pupils from Our Lady of the Rosary, Park Avenue, Staines, heard stories from up-and-coming children’s author, Ana Fischel, and also received a £5 book token to spend in the Two Rivers shop.

Ana sold 5000 copies of her first book, Isabella Zophie and Le Cirque de Magique, within two weeks of publication.

She said: “I am delighted to be taking part in this event.

“In an age when books often have to compete with television and computer games, I welcome the opportunity to share with children the joy and imaginative stimulus reading can bring.”

All the children taking part in the storytelling session, on Thursday, are members of Reading is Fundamental UK.

This group, part of the National Literacy Trust, encourages children to read by organising events and giving away free books.

Ana has promised to visit Our Lady of the Rosary to read to more children and to answer questions about becoming an author.
