but personally I like to think of them as a family of free spirits just trying to make a living.
Imagine if you will, entering a Big Top where there are several points of gravity – a sphere in the centre where the entertainment takes place and all around the outer sphere the audience float to their seats.
The circus travels around Zartarbia – a train of tents and caravans drawn across the sky by flying camels.

The crocodile ringmaster of the circus who smokes smelly cigars. He is rather roguish and somewhat of a Fagin style character not adverse to helping himself to other people's possessions (he has thieving hands concealed beneath the scales of his tail and an ability to hypnotise the audience into giving him all their valuables – that is if he has not stolen them already!).
He is naughty as opposed to bad and his bark is worse than his bite. He doesn't always do what is right immediately and easily falls into temptation. |

He is a talented acrobat, who swoops and dives through the air like a bird. He is also the darkest and most sinister member of the circus, who tends to keep himself to himself. But is there more to him than meets the eye? |
These are three clown brothers who constantly squabble and fight. They are unable to agree on anything. They are however very silly and very funny – watch out for the tickle stick! |
A stunningly beautiful “mermaid” who takes Isabella under her wing. She is a fantastic swimmer (as you might imagine!) who performs with her family of penguins and sea lions. |
He's the strongman of the circus.
Though he's not weak, he's not as physically strong as he makes out, having a tendency to
pad out his muscles. |
He is a fairly new member of the circus and specialises in singing Opera that comes out in bubbles, which then burst to release the song but unfortunately not always in the correct order. |
Martha is a bareback rider with her dancing horses – Honey Syrup who specialises in the Tango and Sugar Brown who is trained in Tap Dancing.
Jim Boy is Martha's husband. He's a nice enough person, a juggler though not particularly good. |
The exotic big cat tamer. Not the friendliest person in the world but she spends most of her time with her lions and tigers. |
The kindly old puppeteer who is the longest serving member of the circus. His favourite puppet is Cheeky Charlie. Krock ridicules him the whole time though he seems to get on well with everybody else. |
Two slightly snooty characters who feel their talents are being wasted at the circus The accident prone fire eater, who has an unfortunate tendancy to set everything alight. |
