Zartarbia was originally an untouched paradise, a world created through ancient magic by a powerful high priest in honour of the gods.

Four key elements derived from natural sources were also created to protect the innocent nature of Zartarbia but unfortunately the high priest's assistant had other ideas and tried to steal the Locket of Fire and Water, along with the original parchments which depict how a person can enter Zartarbia.

He is caught and as punishment is buried alive with the items he has stolen. The high priest decides to seal the gateway to prevent anybody else from trying to corrupt his perfect paradise.

Years later however an explorer digs them up and
exchanges them with a merchant.

The four key elements created by the High Priest are as follows:

The Locket of Fire and Water

This is the most powerful of all the elements and can only be activated by the innocence of a pure hearted child. It is the locket that Isabella discovers in her great aunt's attic and subsequently that takes her to Zartarbia. It contains strong magic that has the ability not only to undo curses but also to exact revenge on evil characters. It can act as a mirror of truth when opened. When it is placed within the Box of Reversals its powers turn over to the dark side.

The Purse of Earth Seeds

This small leather purse ensures growth and prosperity in Zartarbia, however in the wrong hands when it is combined with The Box of Reversals it can also cause terrible famine.

The Phial of Pure Breath

This tiny glass bottle contains air that has healing powers; just one breath over a wound will instantly cure it. It's magic is so strong that even if a person is dead they can be brought back to life.

When placed in The Box of Reversals it can control all forms of weather, creating chaos and catastrophe.

The Tree of Tears

This sacred tree was planted after the Great Battle of Zartarbia. It was planted from one of the Earth Seeds and nourished over the years by tears of laughter and sadness. It serves to remind Zartarbians of how precious life is and whenever one of them has a problem or a difficult decision to make they need only to sit under the tree and the voices of those who have passed away advise them as to the right course of action.

The Seven Souls of Combatine

These were created by The Merchant and the Professor using the ancient parchments that had been found with the Locket. They are like spirits activated by the Locket and created to be the nemesis of any evil force. It was they who founded the ancient art of Quing Chaitsu. After The Great Battle of Zartarbia they all mysteriously vanished.

They are: Umitta Demut (Humility), Moderacao (Moderation), Zufriedenheit (Contentment), Lieb Amore (Love), Astinenza (Abstinence), Tranquille Ruhing (Tranquility) and Aktiv (Active).
